![]() Huper Optik advertises that they test all of their films including their famous Authentic Ceramic Film on the FULL heat spectrum of 2400nm. Many unhappy customers have left negative reviews on the 3M website as well as on Blogs & Forums including the Tesla Forum. In fact, it starts to blur after a few months of cleaning since the color coating is on top which comes off looking at it installed from the inside. Take a look at this video to see how easy it is to remove the color from the Crystalline film. Many customers find out the hard way about how this film does notblock out the heat they expected. What does that mean? It means that you are not getting the heat rejection you expect to get when you’re paying $500+ dollars on this film. * Infrared rejection measured on film only from 900nm-1000nm. Most customers don’t know that this means the 3M company used a portion of the scale to make their numbers appear higher than they actually are. ALL films on the market whether high end or standard are made up of multiple layers.Īccording to the Official 3M Pamphlet for Crystalline, they advertise that their film blocks up to 60% TSER (total solar energy) and 97% infrared rejection* The asterisk indicates a “fine print” which is at the bottom of the pamphlet. ![]() ![]() The Crystalline film is a ‘multi-layer film’ just like every professional brand film on the market. No where in their description do they say that the Crystalline film is Ceramic. “The Crystalline Series features a proprietary, multilayer optical film non-technology that combines over 200 layers in a film.” (3M) The Crystalline line that is currently advertised by many 3M shops as “ceramic” is according to the 3M Official Webpage: No other film company including 3M has the technology or the patent to create this true Ceramic film. They hold the Patent for the technology which is solely owned by Huper Optik and is posted on their website. Huper Optik is the company that has the Authentic Ceramic films. They are getting fooled into thinking that the hundreds of dollars they are spending is for a high end performing film, when really they wasted so much money on something they could have paid so much less for. ![]() 3M Dealers are lying to unknowing customers, misleading them that the 3M Crystalline Film is Ceramic when it is NOT. I sort of want to see 3M and PhotoSync in person, it would settle my mind a lot more. Many tint shops have been taking advantage of customers. Since, it is my dream car I'm ok with shelling a bit more on the tint, long as it's long lasting which PhotoSync should be. I'm leaning towards PhotoSync since HO isn't apparently an option, well a good one. Ya, I do have executive package, hence my hesitation with HO even though my 328i currently has it. lots of posts on this forum that it has caused people interference (immediately resolving after HO was removed). If you have comfort access on your M4, I would beware Huper Optik. I've thought about F1 pinnacle but the windshield option is Air 80 by Llumar (which also makes f1 pinnacle), and Air 80 doesnt have near the heat rejection as photosync or 3m, and also seems to have mixed reviews about its clarity. Most others I've asked (and there are only a few) have also quoted around $1k for whole car.ģM crystalline (next best for heat rejection) best quote I've seen is around $800 for full car + windshield, and $650 for full car without windshield. I think they said $450 for front windshield alone. Best i've seen for photosync is $599 for all around without windshield, $1050 for all around + windshield.
